Federal Reserve Room

The most exquisite piece of leaded art glass in the hotel is the focal point of the Federal Reserve Room. Its extraordinary colors - yellow, gold, and amber - change to shades of light green and blue as the day wanes. Its hues dictate the colors of the room, light lemon with pastel accents. It was in this room in 1910 that a group of six men met to determine what could be done to mitigate the effects of recurring, economic panics in the nation. The conclusions reached at this meeting of several weeks laid the groundwork for the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve Bank that came into being in 1913.
