Jekyll Island Club Hotel Launches Photo Contest on Flickr

Attention all shutterbugs and Flickr photographers! If you enjoy sharing your best shots of your Jekyll Island visit with others on Flickr, run them by us first. Be eligible to win a wonderful prize! The contest will be held monthly, and winners will be announced in issues of this newsletter.

If you’re new to Flickr, it’s an image hosting website, web services suite, and online community. An exciting way to share and embed photographs, it’s also a service used by bloggers to host images they embed in blogs and social media.

So, your still photographs are eligible for this Jekyll Island Club Hotel competition.

It’s this easy. Email your still image entry to phenning@jekyllclub.com as an attachment. In the email, be sure to include the following information:

Name of the photographer
Contact information: phone number and email address, city and state
Caption of still image
Date the image was captured
Permission for the Jekyll Island Club Hotel to use the image on Flickr, YouTube, etc.

A few rules:
1. The image must have been taken by the contestant on Jekyll Island.
2. Contestants may enter one image each month.
3. Deadline for submissions is the last business day of the month.

Winner of Bed & Breakfast Drawing

Brenda Gregory of Cleveland, Tennessee, is the current winner of the drawing for the Bed and Breakfast package at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Her prize includes beautiful Victorian accommodations with king, queen or two double beds and the breakfast buffet for two in the Grand Dining Room.

Ms. Gregory was very happy to win this package. She said, “I am so excited! As I was looking over places to stay in that area and noticed how beautiful the Jekyll Island Hotel is, I decided I would love to see it. Right then I decided to try to win a stay for my family... so we could try it out. My family likes the ocean and sightseeing, taking walks, and shopping. We love to do things as a family, things our 14 and 10 year olds enjoy. They especially would enjoy seeing wildlife that may be in the area.”

Winner of Dinner for Two Drawing

Congratulations to Shawn McLaughlin of Charlotte, North Carolina! He has just won the drawing for a Free Dinner for Two at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. He has a choice of dining in the elegant Grand Dining Room or the historic Courtyard at Crane restaurant on their next visit to Jekyll Island.

“Wow! What a nice surprise!” said Mr. McLaughlin when he learned of his good fortune.

This lucky winner became eligible for the drawing by having dinner at one of the above restaurants and completing the hotel’s guest comment cards. A winner is chosen at the end of each quarter of the year.
