Night Time Turtle Walks
June 1 – July 31, 2009
Explore the beach at night and learn about the amazing journey of loggerhead sea turtles nesting along the Georgia Coast. These popular programs begin with a 30-45 minute presentation at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center about the natural history of sea turtles, followed by a guided beach tour. (Participants must provide their own transportation from the GSTC to the beach.)
$6 per person (members)
$12 per person (non-members)
Price does not include general admission into the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Due to the time and nature of these walks, the Center requires children to be at least four years of age.

Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza!
Celebrate Independence Day on the beach as Jekyll Island hosts a family-fun party at the Beach Deck. The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. --- fun, food, and fireworks! See the DeeJay game show, “The Big Dawg and Paul Show.” The Fourth of July fireworks finale is known to be one of the best in the region.

Horton House Living History
July 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm
Hear tales of the 1742 Spanish attack on Horton House following the Battle of Bloody Marsh. Sample Major William Horton’s ginger “ale” or root “beer” in honor of Georgia’s first brewery. Enjoy colonial games and toys on the front lawn, and drill with the British soldiers to ward off further Spanish threats.
Presentation by colonial re-enactors on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm on the grounds of the Horton House Historic Site. Admission is free.

Franklin Pond Concerts
July 25 and 26, 2009

Two ensemble concerts of classical music are performed this summer at Mistletoe Cottage in Jekyll Island's Historic District, July 25th and 26th at 7:00 pm.
Franklin Pond, a summer program in the Atlanta area for gifted music students age 12-18, is a series of classes taught by Master Class artists and faculty from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. After extensive classes and rehearsals during the series, the students and faculty travel to Jekyll Island to perform two concerts. For the students, it is a culminating concert that showcases their exceptional talent. Their concert Sunday evening promises to be an exciting event.
The professional concert on Saturday evening by the faculty of Franklin Pond is one of the outstanding performance events of the season on Jekyll Island.
Tickets for both performances are available after July 1st at Goodyear Cottage in the Jekyll Island Historic District or by calling 912-635-9944. Admission for the Saturday performance by the faculty is $15.00 per person; the Sunday night concert by the students, $10.00 per person.

Tournament Tough Tennis Camp
