“Name That Room!” at the Hampton Inn and Suites of Jekyll Island and Share in Its History

General Manager Deborah Exum of the Hampton Inn and Suites of Jekyll Island issues a special invitation to the readers of this newsletter to name the new conference facility at the Inn and be part of its history. The wining entrant will receive two nights’ deluxe accommodations.

The new conference room, located off the hotel lobby, will accommodate up to 25 people for meetings, conferences and any special occasions, and is beautifully appointed in a contemporary, Tommy Bahama island style and tone. A professional staff will provide a spectrum of event services including meeting and catering services and small weddings. Arrangements for use of the facility may be made after October 1, 2009 for events scheduled January 17, 2010 and after.

The winning name, selected by owners, Mrs. Exum, and staff, will be announced in local newspapers and on the Hampton Inn and Suites of Jekyll Island Blog: on November 2nd. The contest winner will receive a gift certificate for two nights’ deluxe accommodations at the Hampton Inn & Suites - Jekyll Island, GA for a future stay within the next year.

Rebecca Mason of Ocoee, Florida is this month’s winner of the drawing for the Bed and Breakfast package at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Her prize includes beautiful Victorian accommodations with king, queen or two double beds and the breakfast buffet for two in the Grand Dining Room.

Ms. Mason was delighted to win this package and said, “My first and, so far, only stay at Jekyll Island was a beautiful weekend I spent with my finance. We stayed in the Crane Cottage just before his deployment to Afghanistan. Now I get to tell him that he’s coming home to another stay at your beautiful resort!

“My fiancé and I, after staying at the Club Hotel, fell in love with the location. We’re planning to be married at the Club in September of 2010. Staying there again will give us an excellent opportunity to check out all the possible locations for our wedding.

Winner of Drawing for Free Dinner for Two

Congratulations to Donny and Marie Luke of Douglasville, Georgia, this month's winners of the drawing for a Free Dinner for Two at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. They have a choice of dining in the elegant Grand Dining Room or the historic Courtyard at Crane restaurant on their next visit to Jekyll Island.

The lucky winners became eligible for the drawing by having dinner at one of the above restaurants and completing the hotel's guest comment card.

When Mr. Luke was notified of their winnings, he said, “I was overjoyed to hear that Marie and I are the ‘Dinner for Two” winners this month. Actually, I tricked Marie by telling her that she should read your email even though it was just some generic advertisement. When she read the email, she squealed and literally jumped for joy. We definitely look forward to another great meal and service in the Grand Dining Room.”
