Named to the Top Ten Romantic Island Inns of 2008 by Coastal Living magazine, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel surpasses expectations. Located in the heart of the historic Millionaire's Village, the resort faces the Jekyll River and is surrounded by a maritime forest of oak and magnolia trees, romantic lawns and gardens. “You can wander the 240-acre Millionaire's Village and envision yourself in the Gilded Age,” said the editors of Coastal Living. “And, you can play golf and tennis, cruise around the island by bicycle, inhale the fresh salt air on the beach, and ride in a horse-drawn carriage.”
Designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Victorian resort is a preferred destination for weddings, honeymoons and romantic getaways.

Grand Dining Room, Riverview Lounge, and Lobby Bar Re-open:Renovation Reflects Life of Elegant Leisure Grand Dining Room, Riverview Lounge, and lobby Bar Re-open-Renovation Reflects Life of Elegant Leisure

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is happy to announce the re-opening of the Grand Dining Room, Riverview Lounge, and the Lobby Bar.

Handsomely transformed by DAS Architects of Philadelphia, the hotel’s premiere restaurant establishment, its elegant Riverview Lounge, and the Lobby Bar are at once inviting and reflective of the Club’s historic heritage. The furnishings have a strong English colonial influence. “Colors chosen for furnishings and wall treatment are reminiscent of the early historical palettes: understated beige, taupe and grays with a spirited warm salmon and sparkling white for the wainscoting and shutters.
The Riverview Lounge, the intimate room for breakfast and lunch as well as the hotel’s renowned Afternoon Tea, echoes some of the livelier colors in the decorator’s palette. The Lobby Bar strongly suggests the club’s past as a hunting retreat for original club members, J.P. Morgan, William Rockefeller and their friends.

Come, rediscover the elegance of this National Historic Landmark and its exciting ambience.

The Grand Dining Room, interior design by DAS Architects of Philadelphia

The Grand Dining Room offers a special Dinner for Two to celebrate. Through February, the special menu includes a choice of soup, the house salad, your choice from five specially selected entrées from the Grand Dining Room menu: Stuffed Chicken Breast, Braised Veal Cheeks Chasseur, Grilled Angus New York Strip, Blackened Sea Scallops or Fresh Catch…and a choice of dessert. The $89.00 Dinner for Two is offered each day in February with the exception of February 14th and February 25th.

DAS Architects, Inc., of Philadelphia, was selected for the project by General Manager Kevin Runner who said, “Based on their work for numerous award winning restaurants and their reputation as a top restaurant design firm, we expected outstanding results, and we are very pleased with their work.”

“The goal of the design was to create an atmosphere which reflected the grandeur of this historic property while at the same time giving it a fresh and welcoming new look for the future,” says designer Susan M. Davidson.

The plantation style with leisure furnishings reflects a strong English Colonial influence. Complementary wood finishes have been combined such as rattan pole, tobacco, antique mahogany and dark walnut. Window treatments incorporate split white shutters flanked by full height draperies in a fabric of sesame colored raw silk. This color, the warm salmon shade of the walls, and the tone on tone upholsteries echo the color palette of the carpet.

The Grand Dining Room, the hotel's full service restaurant, offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and a legendary Sunday Brunch. The á-la carte menu features continental cuisine specializing in seafood, gourmet specials and authentic southern fare. Afternoon Tea, served daily, is an established tradition.
