Bridge Builder's Cottage

Hollybourne Cottage | 2:00pm

Have you ever wondered about the inside of Hollybourne Cottage? The most unique architectural structure on Jekyll Island and perhaps all of Goegria, this "cottage" was constructed in 1890 by Jekyll Island Club Member Charles Stewart Maurice, a bridge engineer. The building's design is said to reflect Maurice's knowledge and expertise in bridge construction. The cottage has long been closed off to the public due to significant moisture damgage after its lack of occupancy since the Club's closure.

BUT - four very special Behind-the-Scene Tours will be given every Saturday of May to showcase the restoration progress this architectural wonder has received over the last 18 years from the Jekyll Island Museum's team through generous funds raised by the Jekyll Island Foundation's "Hollybourne Fund".

Tickets: Adults $10, Children ages 7-15 $5, and Free for Children under 6
