History, Tours, & Art
Journey back in time to the Gilded Age.
Jekyll Island Club boasts a rich history around every corner of the resort’s sprawling grounds and carries on into the adjacent, charming Historic District. Take a self-guided tour around the historic cottages, hop aboard a tram, trolley, or horse-drawn carriage for guided tours, explore the island’s many historic sites, or view rotating art exhibits to take in the stories of Jekyll Island in a medium that best suits you.
Hotel History Tour
The Jekyll Island Club is rich with history from the conception of the Federal Reserve to the filming of iconic movies. We invite you to join a hotel history tour led by history aficionado concierge, CJ White. The tour leaves from Palm Court, the front desk at the Jekyll Island Club, and explores the original main Clubhouse building. Hear stories about the millionaire members of 1800’s, the restoration period of the 1980’s, and our more current history.
Tram Tours

This guided trolley tour of our 240-acre historic district includes entry into a historic cottage and admission into the Mosaic Gallery and Faith Chapel at your leisure. The tour lasts 60 minutes and begins at Mosaic, Jekyll Island Museum. Programming and tours are subject to change.
