Picnics on the Island
Guests can take part in a delectable activity inspired by the pastimes of our members, who have had an affinity for picnicking around the island since the early 1900’s. Make your selection of a variety of perfectly paired picnic provisions and let our map guide you to the best picnic spots.
Shopping
Jekyll Island’s shopping destination, the Beach Village, is located just a short walk from the Jekyll Ocean Club. The medley of shops offer boutique shopping, souvenirs, and gourmet groceries. Whether shopping for something to take home, sunglasses, or beachwear, you’ll find what you need and then some.
Horseback Riding
Depart from the Clam Creek Picnic Area and explore the forests or sandy beaches of Jekyll Island on horseback. Reservations are highly recommended and available from Tuesday – Sunday. Call Three Oaks Farm at 912-635-9500 for details.
Tennis
The Jekyll Island Tennis Center is one of the finest municipal facilities in the country, offering 13 Har-tru clay courts less than 1 mile from the Club. The Tennis Center includes a pro shop with tennis racket stringing, racket rental, ball machine rental, tennis equipment, and apparel, as well as clinics and lessons for youths and adults of all levels.
